Zina se Muhabbat Kam ho Jati Hai asks why the Quran forbids zina in such severe terms and calls the road itself evil. His answer is that the act leaves a lasting attachment which repentance lessens but does not end, so that a marriage afterwards is never at rest, and the daily quarrelling follows from it.
The piece carries an editorial note above his name, and it places the piece in his own body of work: it says that he is an expert in science and in the natural sciences, that his very well-known book Science aur Quran gathered the major scientific findings and discussed them well, and that this research of his is therefore also worth reading and acting on.
His own opening is more personal than that. For a long time, he says, he kept turning over the question of why the Quran forbade zina, and why it called the road itself evil, quoting wa lā taqrabū al-zinā innahu kāna fāḥishatan wa sāʾa sabīlā (al-Isrāʾ 17:32). And then: when I came to England, I understood the research of it fully.
The answer he gives is put as a property of the act rather than as a rule about it. Allah has placed it in this act by nature that once one body has joined with another the effect of it always remains, and the heart stays attached to it. Repentance lessens that effect, and if the repentance is lifelong it lessens it considerably, but even then it does not end; and without repentance it stands.
The consequence he draws is domestic and specific. Where a woman has done this with a strange man, or a man with a strange woman, the effect is that afterwards the heart does not settle with the husband or the wife. The other person keeps coming to mind, and seems better than the spouse, and out of that the two quarrel with each other day after day.
The book the note above his name refers to is Science aur Quran.
