Thamarat al-Aqidah ala Khatm al-Nubuwwah is a short Urdu treatise on the finality of prophethood, arguing from seven verses of the Qur'an and nineteen hadiths. It sets out the three claims made by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad and answers each from the hadith literature, and holds that Isa alayhi al-salam returns as a follower of this ummah rather than as a prophet.

Thamarat al-Aqidah ala Khatm al-Nubuwwah is thirty-six pages on the finality of prophethood, and it is the shortest work in this collection. Its own statement of what it does, printed on page five, runs to six points, and the first of them governs the rest: the argument in it is made only from hadiths and verses, so that the matter is settled rather than merely asserted. Seven verses and nineteen hadiths carry the whole of it.

The three claims of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad are set out in full: ẓillī nabī, the shadow prophet; masīḥ mawʿūd, the promised Messiah; and mahdī maʿhūd, the promised Mahdi. Each is answered from the hadith literature. A separate section holds that ʿĪsā عليه السلام returns as an ummatī, a follower within this community, and not as a prophet, and gathers the reports that bear on it.

Two of the six points are about how it is written rather than what it argues. The style is deliberately easy, so that a beginning student can understand what the question actually is before meeting the answer; and an unserious or intemperate tone has been avoided. He names students and imams as the readers he had in mind.
