The English edition of the first part of Thamarat al-Fiqh: 1025 rulings of Hanafi worship, drawn from Nur al-Idah and set out as numbered lists a child can memorise. Printed as Thamratul Fiqh, with the translation edited by Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias in 1432 AH.

The English edition of the first part of Thamarat al-Fiqh, printed as Thamratul Fiqh: An easy book containing 1025 simple laws, for children, with the translation edited by Mufti Afzal Hoosen Elias.

It is the whole of the Urdu first part: purification, prayer, jumuʿah, the two ʿīds, janāzah, vows, fasting, zakāt, hajj, ʿumrah, the etiquettes, the optional prayers and the method of nikāḥ, every ruling numbered as it is in the Urdu.

The author’s own list of what the book is for is printed at the front. It is easy; it can be memorised; it holds the rulings needed from day to day and leaves out the ones that are not; it lets an imam see at a glance how many sunnahs there are in wudu and count them out to the congregation; and it is a guide for those travelling for hajj or in jamāʿat, and for prisoners.

There is no English edition of the second part.

The author’s own dating closes the Urdu text in Manchester on 25 September 2010; the translation was edited on 30 Shawwāl 1432, 27 September 2011.
