Kis Imam ki Wafat Kab Hui is a reference table of the imams of fiqh and hadith, each with the Hijri year of his birth and death and the works he left, and for the hadith collections the number of hadiths each one contains. It runs from Abu Hanifa to Bayhaqi.

Four pages, and all four of them are one table: number, name, birth, death, and works. There is no prose in it at all, which is why it is on this shelf as a reference sheet rather than as an essay.

It opens with the imams of fiqh: Abū Ḥanīfah (80-150 AH, Musnad Imām Aʿẓam and Fiqh Akbar), Mālik (95-179, the Muwaṭṭaʾ at 3,069 hadiths), Abū Yūsuf (113-182, Kitāb al-Kharāj), Muḥammad ibn al-Ḥasan (132-189, thirty volumes), al-Shāfiʿī (150-204). It then runs through the great collectors: ʿAbd al-Razzāq (126-211, Muṣannaf, 21,199), Ibn Abī Shaybah (159-235, Muṣannaf, 37,930), Aḥmad (164-241, Musnad, 27,100), Bukhārī (194-256), Muslim (204-261), Ibn Mājah (209-273, 4,341), Abū Dāwūd (202-275, 5,274), Tirmidhī (220-279, 3,956), Nasāʾī (215-303, Sunan Ṣughrā, 5,761), Ṭabarānī (260-360, al-Kabīr, twenty-five volumes), Dāraquṭnī (306-385, 4,790) and Bayhaqī (384-458, Sunan Kubrā, 21,812).

The counts are the point of it. A list of dates is easy to find; a list that also says how large each collection is, on one sheet, is the thing a student actually wants when placing a narration. The same apparatus, brought under the classical matn texts themselves, is his al-Hidayah maa Ahadithiha and al-Quduri maa Ahadithihi.
