Jumhuri Mulk mein Rehne ka Tariqa adapts forty-five points of Qur'an- and hadith-based guidance for peaceful Muslim life in India and democratic countries.
Jumhuri Mulk mein Rehne ka Tariqa is the India-focused Urdu form of the work published for Britain as Dar al-Aman mein Rehne ke Tariqe. The comparison is visible in the books themselves: both have the same forty-five numbered subjects in the same order, while the opening changes Britain and Europe to India and a democratic country.
The book teaches civic peace through ordinary conduct as well as public duties. A Muslim should greet others pleasantly, help a person in need, act justly, keep the law, pay taxes, respect neighbours and relatives of other faiths, and avoid causing offence at their festivals and funerals. It prohibits conspiracy, hate speech, attacks on public places and the killing of an innocent person.
The regional changes are substantive enough to make this an edition with its own title and page count, but not a separate work. It is therefore grouped with the Britain Urdu edition and the two English translations on one library card.
Completed in Manchester on 9 May 2014 and distributed in India by Mawlana Muslim Qasmi, Delhi.
